Faucet replacement is one of those jobs that looks simple in a YouTube video and turns into a Saturday-afternoon disaster when the shut-off valve won't close. We've done enough of them in Kelowna homes to know which corners not to cut.

Every install gets new braided stainless supply lines (the rubber lines that came with your old faucet are a leak waiting to happen), a torqued mounting nut, and a 15-minute pressure test before we leave. If your shut-offs are seized, we'll tell you straight and quote the fix before swapping anything.

Common questions

Should I buy the faucet first?+

Yes, generally. Pick the faucet you want at Home Depot, RONA, Bath Centre Kelowna, or order online - have it at the property the morning of the install. If you want our recommendation, message us a photo of your sink and we'll suggest 2-3 options at different price points. We don't mark up faucets if we pick them up for you, but it adds a $35 materials run fee.

What if my shut-off valves don't work?+

Common in Kelowna homes built before 1990. The valve handles seize from mineral buildup and can't be closed all the way. We diagnose on arrival: if it's a simple stem replacement we charge $95 per valve and do it same-visit. If the valve body itself is corroded, we'll quote replacement (usually $95-$140 each) before proceeding. We don't install a new faucet on a shut-off that doesn't work - that's a future flood waiting to happen.

Do you handle hard-water buildup?+

Yes. Kelowna's water hardness varies by area (Lower Mission has notably more minerals than Glenmore). When we remove an old faucet, we clean the sink deck and supply connections. If you want a longer-term fix, we can install an under-sink filtration cartridge ($179 + filter cost) - but we're not a full water-treatment shop. For whole-house softeners we'll refer you to a specialist.

What if there's a leak after you leave?+

Call us back the same day or next morning. We come back at no charge inside our 90-day labour warranty. In practice this almost never happens - we pressure-test before leaving and won't sign off if we see any sign of a drip. But things shift sometimes, and we'd rather you call us first than try to fix it yourself.

Can you replace just the cartridge in my existing faucet?+

Sometimes - if your faucet is under 5 years old and parts are available. Most Kelowna homes we visit have a 10+ year old faucet that's not worth cartridge work; the seals everywhere else will fail within months and you'll be paying twice. We'll tell you straight which way is the better value when we look at it.
